Rev. George W. Dietrich began serving The Hamptons Lutheran Parish May 1st, 2017. Pastor George grew up in Spring Valley, NY and at an early age felt called to become a pastor. This sense of call informed his decision to attend Concordia College – Bronxville, NY for undergraduate studies on a Pre-Seminary track with a minor in Social Philosophy. He continued his formal education at The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, from which he graduated with a Master of Divinity in 2011. He was ordained in Word and Sacrament on September 18, 2011. Pastor George’s first call was in New Jersey serving two congregations in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Pastor George has a passion for spreading the Gospel. Trusting that Christ has shown us the fullest love we have in God (in Christ’s words, life, death, and resurrection), we are called to serve the world with the gifts, talents, and resources of our whole being. Embodying the ELCA’s tagline; God’s Work, Our Hands. Pastor George is excited when people are empowered to utilize their passions to benefit their neighbor. It has become one of his passions to help guide persons on the path of discovery of their empowerment, passions, and service to others.
When not wearing the collar, Pastor George is spending time with family, enjoying and supporting the arts in their many forms, rooting for the New York Rangers, dreaming of traveling, and always looking to learn and try new things.
Pastor George and his spouse, Ria, and their daughters, Ella, Vivian, and Carlena love the Hamptons and look forward to getting to know their neighbors better.
